The Windows 7 / Windows Live 2009 skin was the first skin that I built for Digsby. My original motivation for putting it together was my own frustration with the lack of decent Digsby skins, so I dissected another skin from the Digsbies.org repository and with the help of the skinning documentation put together something I was happy with. I had been trying out the Windows 7 Beta at the time, and really liked the look and feel of the UI; my goal was to emulate that styling.
Working off the then-beta Windows Live applications suite, I used the built-in Screen Clipping tool to get screen shots of different parts of the different programs. They were then tweaked in the GIMP to fit into all the little parts of the Digsby interface.

At first, I had no intention of submitting the skin to the Digsbies site because all I wanted was something that would work for me. Then, after several revisions and hours of work, I decided that I wanted to share my creation with the rest of the world. Maybe someone else would be as happy with it as I was.
January 25th, 2009, version 1.0 was posted online. Since then, in roughly 8 months, this skin was downloaded over 5700 times and became the 7th most downloaded skin in the Digsbies listing.
As of August 12, this skin is no longer supported since it has also become the default skin for Digsby. It is still available from Digsbies.org to download in its original versions, but no new updates or patches will be added.
